On April 6, Sonya Yoncheva appears for the first time in Venezuela when she performs a concert with Domingo Hindoyan leading the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela.
On the occasion, Sonya will also sing for the first time in public a Wagner aria, Elisabeth’s “Dich teure Halle” from Tannhäuser. The program also includes the overture to the same opera, Prelude and Liebestod (for orchestra) from Tristan und Isolde, Dvořák’s “Song to the Moon” from Rusalka and Verdi’s “Pace, pace mio Dio” from La forza del destino in the first part. The second part is dedicated entirely to Giacomo Puccini, with “La Tregenda” and “Se come voi piccina” from Le Villi, “Un bel dì vedremo” from Madama Butterfly, “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi and “Vissi d’arte” from Tosca.
The concert takes place at 7pm at the Teatro Teresa Carreño in Caracas.

On February 29 and March 2, Sonya Yoncheva brings “her delicate, dreamy, detailed Mimì” (The New York Times) to the Sofia Opera, making her house debut and Bulgarian operatic debut.
The sold-out performances of La Bohème are conducted by Boian Videnoff and also feature Liparit Avetisyan as Rodolfo, Veselin Mihaylov as Marcello, Anton Andreev as Schaunard and Nikolay Voynov as Colline.
Sonya made her role debut as Mimì in 2014 at the Metropolitan Opera and performed it in the last ten years at venues such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Paris Opéra, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Bayerische Staatsoper.
